As a new campus, are the materials used during construction of high quality? How will you ensure that the internal air quality is safe for my child?

Wellington College China, the owner and developer of our school, only works with top quality materials and suppliers, using globally recognised and certified brands to do so. Comprehensive testing of the internal air quality is scheduled to be undertaken before and following the handover (both before and after furniture installation). Handover and occupation is scheduled for May which gives times to thoroughly ventilate and air the new buildings. WCC is experienced in terms of managing big projects and operating schools in Tianjin,Shanghai and Hangzhou.

Anybody who works, lives or attends school in a new building will notice certain smells, it will be important for all of us to remember that not all smells are ‘bad’ and that not all bad air carries a smell. To ensure that the air we are all breathing in is clean, safe and free from toxins, we will engage an independent third party company to test and monitor the air quality (including formaldehyde and Total Volatile Organic Compounds (TVOC)) levels within the school on multiple occasions prior to opening at the end of August; the reports and data will be made available to parents and staff. Hiba Academy Nantong takes the health and safety of its pupils, parents and staff of upmost importance and will be straightforward, open and honest in all communications in this regard.
