Hiba Academy Nantong adheres to the curriculum standards as laid out by the Chinese National Curriculum and enhances it with Hiba’s unique educational philosophy. Lessons at Hiba are enquiry-based with a focus on improving pupils’ understanding. In addition to regular courses like Chinese, English, Mathematics, Science, Chinese Social Studies that encompasses History and Geography, Music, Sports and Art, Hiba pupils also learn distinctive Hiba courses, such as Theme, Wellbeing, Drama, English Social Studies, Swimming and Design & Technology, etc.. Depending on the class, they will be delivered in English, Chinese or bilingually.
We will also provide a large number and range of school-based afternoon courses as part of our co-curricular activities programme, which may include such activities as Lego, robotics, debating, English drama, kayaking, archery, pop band, orchestra, and so on. These CCA courses are an important part of the school experience for our pupils and, as such, children are expected to take part in all CCA afternoon sessions offered.

All textbooks will be based on the curriculum syllabuses of compulsory education and will be enriched by textbooks from Singapore, the UK and other countries, with various well-developed online resources integrated into the curriculum. Each Hiba pupil is provided with an individual account with access to the school eLibrary and other designated learning websites. Teachers will select appropriate teaching resources for subject themes in accordance with the specific demands of the pupils.
