The academic leadership team has been recruited and working on the Hiba Academy Nantong project since March 2021 (and even prior to that for some members of the team, including the Executive Master). Wellington College China has made a significant investment in recruiting the leadership team so far in advance of opening the school.

Recruitment for other members of the teaching and non-academic teams is underway and we will use a variety of resources to ensure that we attract the very best candidates. It is extremely competitive to be offered a job at a Wellington College China school.。

The academic leadership team has developed an ‘on-boarding’ plan to ensure that the teachers are connected to the wider Wellington community, the unique curriculum and their new colleagues prior to starting at the school. For those teachers who are already based in China, they will be invited to attend our school, community and social events starting as soon as they accept their offer. For those teachers who are based in the UK, they will be invited to attend the four-day Wellington College China induction that takes place in July every year at Wellington College UK.

All of our teachers will start work approximately three weeks before the school opens. During this three-week period, all staff will undergo a full induction and training programme and be given lots of departmental time to establish their classrooms ready to welcome your children on their first day.
