Be You. Be the Future.

10 Dec 2024

In 2013, McKinsey & Company listed 12 disruptive technologies that could potentially change the future of lifestyle, business, and the global economy, most of which belong to the new generation of information technologies. Currently, only by seizing the development and application of the new generation of information technologies can we accurately observe and understand the rapidly changing era we live in, thereby capturing the historical opportunity of informatization development and creating new advantages in development and competition. Information and communication technology (ICT) is not only an indispensable tool but also a unique way of thinking and a powerful problem-solving weapon. Hiba Academy Nantong understands this and is committed to providing pupils with a solid and rich learning platform in the design of ICT courses. From early childhood to adolescence, the school systematically cultivates pupils' competitiveness and creativity in the digital age.

The ICT curriculum framework of Hiba Academy Nantong is divided into four major parts: computational thinking, network and system design, cybersecurity, and digital literacy. In the lower grades, Hiba Academy Nantong's ICT curriculum introduces pupils to common computers and their working principles, teaches them to use modular programming for creative expression and problem-solving, and to organize and process safely collected information. As the grades advance, the breadth and depth of the learning content also increase. In the higher grades, pupils are required to use text-based programming for creative expression or problem-solving and, on a higher level of digital literacy, choose appropriate tools to create, modify, and publish digital works as needed.

"Our ICT course not only helps students master essential computer skills and enhance their learning efficiency but also, through a variety of engaging and captivating activities, trains them to identify and solve problems, stimulates their critical thinking, and fosters a spirit of teamwork," introduced ICT course instructor Li Shi. The knowledge, skills, and ways of thinking acquired through the ICT course will greatly benefit their future IGCSE and A-Level studies, as well as their future careers.

To deeply stimulate pupils' interest in learning, the school has introduced a variety of high-quality teaching resources and books.

Through a systematic and comprehensive ICT curriculum, Hiba Academy Nantong not only teaches pupils essential computer skills but also motivates them through fun and challenging activities to develop problem-identifying and problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and teamwork spirit. We believe that  they will surely become leading elites of the digital age.
