Shine at Yale

The 2024 World Scholar's Cup (WSC) Global Round was held at Yale University in the United States,Three "young scholars" from Hiba Academy Nantong — Grade 8 Zoey, Grade 7 Yannis and Sophia — competed against 50,000 middle and high school pupils from over 140 cities around the world. They stood out and performed excellently, winning 2 gold medals and 5 silver medals, showcasing the outstanding caliber of Hiba Academy Nantong pupils on the international stage.

 

Behind these medals are countless hard work and efforts. According to their coach, Nade, from the moment preparations began, the team members dedicated a significant amount of time to organise knowledge and undertaking specialised training. Throughout the WSC CCA course, the pupils honed their logical thinking and response speed, laying a solid foundation for the finals.

 

For these pupils, the WSC finals marked not only the end of the competition path but also an important step towards entering Yale University. Competing and debating with academic elites from around the world on this scholastic stage was an unforgettable experience. "Stepping into Yale for the first time, I was captivated not only by its historic buildings and academic atmosphere but also by the feeling of standing at the center of the world stage," Zoey remarked. "Discussing and debating with competitors from different countries made me realize areas for improvement in my thinking and expression skills." Upon returning to school, Zoey immediately created a detailed study plan to continually improve herself.

 

Hiba Academy Nantong pupils' efforts and talents led them to the world stage, showcasing diverse cultural backgrounds and global perspectives.Nade observed that by attending WSCs, pupils have gained advantages in cross-cultural communication. During preparation, they delved into literature, mastered knowledge, and conducted in-depth analyses and research, greatly enhancing their academic capabilities and independent learning spirit. The WSC not only stimulates critical thinking and creativity but also encourages pupils to engage in innovative research and thinking, providing a strong foundation for their academic and professional development.

 

The World Scholar's Cup is not just an academic competition but a celebration of knowledge. . Activities such as team debates, knowledge quizzes, creative writing, and on-the-spot questions test pupils' knowledge reserves while sparking their intellectual vitality and teamwork skills, transforming them into active explorers and discoverers. During this Yale journey, Hiba Academy Nantong pupils broadened their horizons through cross-cultural and international academic exchanges, fostering infinite possibilities for their future.
