As early spring breathes vitality into our campus, the past week resonated with the symphony of intellectual pursuit. The rhythmic tapping of keyboards harmonized with spirited playground activities, while dynamic theater lights painted our educational tapestry. Let us illuminate these vibrant moments that define Hiba's heartbeat.
This week witnessed our academic leadership team conducting drop-in observations across classrooms, taking notes and giving feedback on several areas such as teacher-pupil interactions, lesson plans and quality of teaching. On Wednesday afternoon, the boarding department's hosted Coffee Morning. Wei Qian, our new Head of Boarding, engaged parents in thoughtful dialogues about routine optimisation and emotional guidance. This Friday, our Master Simon Kenworthy introduced the inaugural Master's Table initiative, where he will meet with a group of pupils each week over lunch to hear their voices and exchange ideas on how we can make the school better.
This week’s Spotlight goes to the very "digital heart" of our campus – Our IT Department! The team not only keeps the high-speed connectivity for the whole campus without much downtime, but also supported over sixty theater productions and open-day events last semester. They also improved the Education365 Platform - where parents now can book parent-teacher conference and CCA course via this platform. More improvements are happening on this platform, led by our innovative IT team.
This week's Shout Out goes to: Sarah from Grade 8 was given the shoutout from her teacher, whom praised her for her focus, hardwork and dedication towards her studies. Another Shout Out was dedicated to Julian from Grade 5, who claimed the Individual First in Wellington College China’s Nitro Type Competition. Yimi and Youyou from Grade 6 secured third place, while fifth graders Julian, Barbara, Bowen, Amanda and sixth graders Youyou, Amber, Lilian, Emma, Kiki returned triumphantly with team medals.
Next week is the highly anticipated Book Week. There will be activities throughout the week. On March 4th-5th, a roving book fair shall flood corridors with rivers of knowledge; daily quests await sharp minds to claim golden tickets of wisdom; Friday's grand finale will see our oval transformed into a chrono-crossing stage. Imagine Harry Potter exchanging verses with Lin Daiyu while Sherlock Holmes shares deductions with NeZhang - a carnival where global literary spirits dance through spacetime, igniting fireworks of imagination above our campus.
See you next week!
