This week, our campus was brimming with the vibrant spirit of international exchange as we warmly welcomed a delegation of 19 pupils and 4 teachers from Wellington College Prep, who spent a fulfilling and memorable half-week with us at Hiba Academy Nantong. Simultaneously, our Spirit Week was in full swing, with Tuesday's International Day standing out as the highlight. Pupils proudly showcased their native languages, cultures, and cuisines in traditional attire, transforming our campus into a miniature "global village" that vividly celebrated the charm and inclusivity of cultural diversity.
In both academic and sporting arenas, our pupils continued to achieve remarkable accomplishments. At the "Battle of the Books" reading competition, our pupils demonstrated profound literary prowess, while the cross-school mathematics contest for Grade 4 was successfully held at our campus, with our young participants competing with composure and skill. Special mention goes to Jay, who not only claimed the title of Jiangsu Province U12 breaststroke champion but also secured second place in the Chinese Language Festival singing competition. His younger brother Andy went one step further, taking home the top prize in the same event. Meanwhile, orienteering enthusiast Ingrid earned second place overall in the national competition and delivered a courageous speech in Chinese, earning widespread acclaim.
This week also saw the grand convening of the Wellington College Group's Global HR Workshop at our academy, where elite educators from across our campuses gathered in Nantong to discuss strategies for nurturing educational talent. We were equally honored to host visiting governors, whose strategic vision and steadfast support play a pivotal role in our institution's development. Through regular online and in-person exchanges, they provide invaluable guidance to ensure every decision aligns with our pupils' growth needs, providing a solid foundation for Hiba Academy Nantong's pursuit of excellence.
Looking ahead, next week promises another exciting lineup of activities. Sports enthusiasts can anticipate the Shanghai Fencing Championships and swimming competitions, while pupils in Grades 5 and 6 are invited to register for our boarding taster nights. Nursery open days and parent-teacher conferences will be held on Thursday and Friday, offering families opportunities to engage with our community. Additionally, our faculty will gather in Shanghai for Wellington College China staff sports day featuring badminton and football matches.
See you next week!
