This week, Hiba Academy Nantong hosted a unique International Day event, bringing together pupils and teachers from 17 different countries to celebrate this multicultural festival. Participants dressed in their national attire and waved their flags as they paraded the school. The multilingual greetings at the flag-raising stage formed a harmonious chorus, embodying the profound metaphor of Hiba Academy Nantong International Day: education should take place across the world, where our differences unit.
After the parade, exciting activities followed one after another! Each booth in the corridor area became a distinctive 'National Pavillion'. Pupils enthusiastically introduced their researched Country's culture to visitors, covering everything from traditional festivals and famous landmarks to local customs. The most mouth-watering aspect was certainly the traditional dishes prepared by the pupils.
However, tasting these dishes wasn't an easy task! The interactive segment was full of fun, requiring visitors to answer cultural trivia or participate in traditional games and activities, such as Chinese shuttlecock kicking and Spanish rhythmic dancing. Parents and children alike enjoyed themselves, with the whole school immersed in a joyous atmosphere, truly experiencing the charm of cultural diversity.

Special guests at the event included pupils from Wellington College Prep. The day before, they took part in several traditional cultural activities at Hiba Academy Nantong, including practicing Chinese calligraphy, making and flying kites, and engaging in paper-making and woodblock printing workshops. These activities gave them a deep understanding of Chinese culture and prepared them well for the International Day event.
On International Day, pupils from Wellington College Prep, and Hiba Academy Nantong gathered together to participate in various activities. They played hockey game, filling the air with laughter. They also enjoyed a culinary journey, tasting delicious dishes from around the world.
At Hiba Academy Nantong, friends from different cultural backgrounds formed deep bonds and spent an unforgettable International Day together, weaving a multicultural network through food, cultures, and laughter.
