Weekly Roundup

28 Apr 2025

Welcome to the Weekly Roundup! Hiba Nantong has been buzzing with activities, from academics to sports, with every pupil shining in their own way.

First, congratulations to our fencing team! Ten pupils competed in the Hiba Cup 2025 SSSA Fencing Invitational. Grade 5's Shirley and Grade 8's Raissy both won third place—great job! Fencing is not just a test of physical prowess but also a showcase of strategy and focus. We look forward to this team achieving even greater success in the future.

On Tuesday, we welcomed British multidisciplinary artist Nick Toczek. A poet, writer, magician, puppeteer, radio host, and rock singer, this versatile creator captivated our pupils with a spellbinding magic performance, inviting them on an inspiring 'magical journey' to explore life's infinite possibilities. His visit sparked creativity and new perspectives in our pupils.

In the Nursery, pupils explored science by building a volcano model and learning through hands-on experiments. This Inquiry-based approach fuels curiosity and critical thinking in our children.

Congratulations to our four international pupils and their Chinese teacher, Grace, for excelling at the 5th Chinese Language Festival! Barbara won second place, Rafaela third, and Ingrid and Shannon received Merit Awards. Their success reflects our strong language programme.

Next week, Grades 1-8 will embark on outdoor Adventure Days, learning beyond the classroom in nature.

As the Labour Day holiday approaches, we wish all pupils, staff and families a wonderful break. Enjoy time with loved ones and return refreshed!
