While China’s national badminton team won the Sudirman Cup for the 14th time and table tennis stars battled it out at the World Championships in Doha, that same indomitable sporting spirit was alive across the Hiba Academy Nantong campus. This week, we held three Sports Days. Every leap and sprint was an experience of growth for our pupils.
Nursery
Our PE team designed a family sports day specially tailored to the developmental needs of our youngest children. Toddlers and parents high-fived their way through relay races, with shared laughter turning every jump and ball pass into treasured childhood memories.
“Watching my child embrace challenges with joy – that’s the real gold medal,” reflected one parent.

PE Teacher
Physical development is a cornerstone of our Nursery curriculum. Beyond motor skills, sport naturally nurtures social confidence and teamwork. We’re sowing the seeds of lifelong wellbeing.
Primary
Friday morning began with a bang as the starter pistols sounded. Sprinters shot off the line like arrows, while dodgeball became a strategic battleground. The highlight was an epic tug-of-war, uniting the whole Primary section in raucous cheers, where teamwork shone brighter than any trophy.
I represented De House in many wonderful activities. I learned the importance of teamwork among us.
——Joyce, Grade 5
Secondary
By the afternoon, our Secondary athletes took the games to new heights of skill and intensity. The basketball courts saw gravity-defying alley-oops, football strikers powered through defences with relentless determination, and volleyball teams moved with the precision of seasoned pros. Even the benchball matches revealed surprising tactical depth.
Sports Day is something I have been looking forward to for a very long time. It's been very fun to watch others play sports and also participate.
——Milo, Grade 8
At Hiba, sport is central to building resilient character and nurturing lifelong health. Athletic competitions, like our Sports Days not only unlock our pupils’ potential but also help them develop the courage and perseverance to face challenges head-on. The growth they gain through sport will empower them to become well-rounded individuals, ready to shine on the stage of tomorrow’s society.
