This week, we came together for the annual Summer Carnival. It was a fun-filled day of community spirit that created lasting memories and brought everyone closer. At the same time, pupils in Grades 2 to 4 set off on an educational trip to Suzhou, where they explored the world of tourism and local culture. Grade 5 celebrated their Transition Ceremony, confidently stepping into the next chapter of their school life.
Our bespoke CSL programme blends structured learning with hands-on experiences to help pupils develop their Chinese skills. Embracing the idea of ‘learning through doing,’ teachers took international pupils to Nantong’s Tangzha Old Town, where they tried their hand at indigo dyeing—a treasured national intangible cultural heritage. It was an opportunity to combine language learning with cultural appreciation.
In the Wellington College China English Writing Competition, several pupils achieved impressive results: Rain (Grade 4) and Rafaela (Grade 8) won first place in Journalism, while Barbara (Grade 5) came second in the Short Story category. Julia (Grade 8) secured second place in Poetry, with Eliya (Grade 4) and Joyce (Grade 5) taking third place in Journalism and Poetry, respectively.
Next week, pupils in Grades 9 to 11 will embark on a three-day outdoor adventure in Lianyungang. On Thursday, Grade 1 will hold their Young Pioneers Ceremony, and Friday’s Careers Day will feature industry leaders from AI, fintech and the creative sector, who will share their expertise and advice to help pupils discover future opportunities. We offer our sincere thanks to the parents and partners supporting this innovative campus-to-career initiative. Through these varied experiences, we aim to give pupils a broader outlook and tailored guidance, helping them build a strong foundation for their future.
