Where Academic Excellence Meets Holistic Development
“During my first visit, I was struck by the meticulously designed curriculum,” Giselle recalls. For her, Hiba Academy Nantong offers far more than academic excellence, providing a well-rounded education that includes sport, the arts and wellbeing.
Learning here goes beyond the classroom. Project-based inquiry, interdisciplinary activities and global competitions bring education to life for her children from her son Felipe’s compelling MUN debates, her elder daughter Rafaela’s outstanding performance at the World Scholar’s Cup or her younger daughter Barbara’s award-winning Chinese speech at the 5th Chinese Language Festival.
Unlike the half-day schooling system common in Brazil, Hiba Academy Nantong offers over a hundred Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), encouraging pupils to discover new interests and develop talents that enrich their personal and academic growth. Her children have embraced a wide range of pursuits—performing in musicals, weaving textile art, painting in the studio, competing on the basketball court and exploring science and physics.
Personalised Growth
Every Learner Is a Unique Star
As a mother of three, Giselle values Hiba’s pupil-centred approach, where each pupil thrives in an environment that respects individual differences and supports personalised development.
Felipe, now in Grade 12, is preparing for university applications with tailored support from the dedicated university counselling team. Beyond academics, he serves as Head Boy, leads assemblies and supports musical productions, gaining invaluable leadership experience along the way. “Seeing such professional planning gives me confidence in his future,” she says.
Once shy, Rafaela has blossomed into a confident young leader—whether as a dance leader at the Summer Carnival, a performer in school plays, an art project team captain or a champion debater at the World Scholar’s Cup. Each challenge has revealed new sides to her potential.
Barabara’s rapid progress in Chinese has been a source of pride for their family. Now fluent enough to act as her mother’s translator, she connects easily with her peers as a house captain. Her victory in an international Chinese competition highlights the success of Hiba Academy Nantong’s Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) programme, whose structured, immersive curriculum fosters not only language skills, but also an understanding of Chinese thinking.
Watching her children’s unique journeys, Giselle reflects that true education is not about chasing a single notion of excellence, but about helping each child discover their own voice in the world. This cross-cultural understanding may be the most precious gift of all.
Collaborative Community
Growing Together Through Dialogue
As an engaged parent, Giselle plays an active role in Hiba’s vibrant community—from workshops and charity walks to International Day and the Summer Carnival.
With more than 70 parent events each year—ranging from academic insights and teen psychology to communication workshops and festive gatherings—Hiba creates a dynamic learning network. Here, Giselle has found not only advice and support, but also friends who share her belief in education as a partnership.
“Parent workshops cover everything from bilingual curricula to nutrition, equipping me to guide my children and grow as a parent myself.”
To Giselle, her children, though rooted in the same soil, have blossomed into distinct individuals under Hiba Academy Nantong’s nurturing ethos. Whether through academic rigour, artistic expression or leadership, the school celebrates each child’s uniqueness as their greatest asset. In this environment, differences are not obstacles but opportunities—where every pupil’s potential can truly flourish.
