On 27 August, after a restful and restorative summer break, Hiba Academy Nantong sprang back to life. The gates reopened, and pupils—new and returning—once again filled our corridors. A palpable energy filled the air as we got ready for the year ahead.
A Message from
the Master
Like Mr Kenworthy said in our video, this year is a special year for Hiba Academy Nantong, because next summer we will be congratulating our first cohort of graduates. Their recent AS Level results set a high standard for the whole school. We look forward to what they achieve this year.
With our full boarding programme now underway, we’re thrilled to be welcoming pupils from Nantong, Jiangsu and beyond. It’s great to see pupils from different backgrounds learning and living together—sharing ideas, building friendships and getting involved in every part of school life, whether in the classroom, on the pitch or on the stage.
Orientation Day
"Thanks to the hard work of our staff, Orientation Day was a resounding success. New pupils took part in classroom introductions, explored a world of possibilities with our co-curricular activities and, if they are boarders, they settled into their new home away from home."
— Violin Wang
Head of School Office
In the afternoon, parents and pupils gathered in the theatre for a welcome from Mr Kenworthy, followed by short talks from each Head of School about what we have in store for the new academic year.
In the classrooms, pupils swapped stories about their summer and talked about the new term. New pupils were shown around by their peers and began to feel right at home in no time.
Our Co-Curricular Activities Fair in the sports hall was a vibrant affair. It was a chance for our pupils to explore all the new passions they can pursue.
At the end of the day, our day pupils went home, while boarding families moved in and met our boarding team. The campus felt settled and ready for the first day.
Gifts for the
New Academic Year
At the start of the term, each pupil received a welcome pack, which included:
Sports bag and water bottle
To encourage healthy habits alongside schoolwork
Bookmark and Badges
The clock tower bookmark stands for learning alongside the flow of time, while the mascot badge carries the motto of 'Be You. Be More.' inspiring pupis to pursue their dreams with courage and look toward a boundless future.
Hiba teddy bear
A small gift to make our pupils feel at home
"I'm absolutely delighted with this year's back-to-school gifts! The sports bag is incredibly practical, while the bookmark and badge are both exquisitely crafted. But my favorite of all is the fluffy Hiba bear — it’s simply irresistible!"
—— Yuri
Grade 6 Pupil
From the first hello in our theatre to the last chat before lights out in the boarding house, Orientation Day set a positive tone for the year. It’s great to have everyone back, and we’re excited about the year ahead!
